History of the Town of Rockingham, Vermont, 1907 pg 338. The following is reported, "When the earth was removed from the top of the ledges east of the falls a remarkable human skeleton, unmistakably that of an Indian, was found. Those who saw it tell the writer the jaw bone was of such size that a large man could easily slip it over his face and the teeth, which were all double, were perfect... This skeleton was kept for many years deposited in the attic of a small building on the north side of the Square. This building was then occupied by Dr. John H. Wells' office and drug store and stood where the Italian fruit store now does. When the building was rebuilt a decade ago or more the bones disappeared."
Another giant skeleton report along the Connecticut River. The Connecticut River Valley is known for possessing very fertile farmland and also having human habitation sites that date back over 11,000 years. Rockingham Vermont is on the east bank of the Connecticut River. As you travel south down the river these are some of the other reports I have unearthed:
Gill, Ma. gigantic skeleton unearthed,
Northfield, Ma. gigantic skeleton unearthed,
Montague, Ma. seven seven foot skeletons unearthed, Deerfield, Ma. eight foot double rows of teeth unearthed, Hadley, Ma. seven foot double rows of teeth unearthed and then down the river into Hartford and out to the ocean where many other similar skeletons were unearthed along the way. You would think anthropologists would be very interested in this information. Instead, the professional response is always the same, something along the lines of, sorry son only fools believe in unicorns and dragons.
