Today's Daily Giant comes from the History of Chenango and Madison Counties New York, part 1 by James Hadden Smith, 1880 g 56. From the book,
"The face of the earth around, indeed indicates that it has once been peopled with a race considerably advanced in civilization. Within a radius of three miles from this spot, are found graves, with trees growing over them, so that the roots spread from the head to the foot. A great many of these graves were some years since excavated and found to contain various bones and in some cases entire skeletons of people of giant proportions, the skulls and jaw-bones of which would cover the head and face of the most fleshy person of our day. In these graves were also found hatchets of very symmetrical shape, brass kettles somewhat in the form of our brass kettles, smoking pipes of various shapes, small metal bells, beads of all shapes and sizes and various other articles of use and ornament, some of them bearing letters, characters or devices in an unknown language."
Yet another giant account where strange or indecipherable language on artifacts is mentioned. I remember watching the Giant episode on America Unearthed last season and watched Scott Wolter pull out one account of seven and eight footers from Minnesota out of his backpack. While very cool at the time, how about well over 1000 reports and counting. In the past several months alone myself and another researcher I work with have found several hundred more accounts, many of which I have been posting here. It is just a matter of time before the History Channel or another network puts together a several hour documentary on this subject and many people will be blown away by the mountain of evidence and the lame reaction by professionals.
