Your Daily Giant  4/2/2013

Today's Daily Giant is from the Evening News Jan 3, 1901. The following is reported, "An entire skeleton of an Indian giant has been dug up, together with many other human bones, curious copper and stone implements and crude ornaments. The thigh bone of the giant's skeleton is twice as large as that of an ordinary man." My experience is that when someone describes something as twice as large it ends up usually being twice as large. The relics were found buried under 20 feet of gravel. It is also reported that people in large numbers were flocking to the scene of the discovery. Some of the first accounts of giant skeletons I uncovered were on the Connecticut River. Gill, Northfield, Deerfield, Hadley, and Montague, Massachusetts all reported giants that were unearthed, several with double rows of teeth. These finds continued down the river down through into Connecticut. Frankly, the majority of accounts were plainly stated, buried in the voluminous pages of town histories. I believe this adds to the veracity of these reports.
