Today's Daily Giant from the Omaha Daily Bee, May 25, 1882, pg 1. A giant skull is reported being found in the Red River Valley. From the article, "The only deposit yet found of this extinct race in that region is a skull of immense proportions, a singular formation. It has been turned over to a historical society for examination. The skull is a perfect specimen and shows conclusive evidence of a race of giant natives."
Note how the article refers to "this extinct race" in matter of fact fashion. There were so many giant skeleton finds when the Mound Builder mounds were being opened in the 19th century that they didn't even question their veracity. Yes, Mr. Newspaper reporter, I agree, the problem is that a bunch of assholes have hid the skeletal remains and then have ignored all the obvious evidence. An assault on objective reason has taken place but in the end the truth will come out.
